I have a love-hate relationship with Saturdays. . .

. . . because I always have grand plans in my head of all the things I will get done and all the fun I will have. But I always dream of doing far more than is actually possible in any given day. So, when reality settles in and the day unfolds I am often disappointed. This past Saturday started out that way, but then became all I could have hoped for. Thanks to a patient husband and a great little boy the day was really sublime. Picnic on the beach and flying in the front yard. What more could a girl ask for?

Enjoy!

Emma Prusch Farm

Last Friday a group of us went to the Emma Prusch Farm here in San Jose. It is so cool! Aparently, Emma Prusch grew up on this dairy farm. In the 1940s she saw how the San Jose area was becoming bigger and more of a "city", so she decided that in her will she would donate the farm to the city to be preserved as an open space. So, now, the house is still there along with some plots for gardens and the cow stables (I don't know if they are really called stables when they are for cows - but is is a big open barn) and a big playground and picnic areas. They have some farm animals there too; roosters and chickens and other foul all roaming around loose. Pigs, sheep, goats & cows too (not roaming loose, thank goodness). I really enjoyed it and look forward to taking Adam back when he is a little older.

And thanks to Jessica for letting us borrow the sun hat!

Enjoy the pics!

Adam facing west. . . Adam facing east. . .

I apologize in advance for the massive quantities of pictures of Adam I'm posting and have posted in the past. But he is my only subject and I really enjoy taking pictures of him. I just had to get out of the house this morning, so we went to the Rose Garden Park and introduced Adam to grass. He was reticent at first, but seemed to enjoy it after a while. While I'm thinking about photography, does anyone have any tips or good resources to read up on photography that isn't TOO technical? I enjoy doing it, but I really have no idea what I'm doing. When I come home and look at my pictures I always like the one I took when I just randomly held up my camera and shot. . . I'm not kidding, those are always my favorites. . .

anyway, enjoy!

Adam was embarassed. . .

. . . by my previous post and today decided to put an end to the interweb mockery by actually EATING his Cheerios. What is it with kids that one day they have no interest in something or act as though they can't do it, and the next day they are doing it as though they've been at it for years?! I don't know what it is, but I love it.

Cheery-O

So, Adam is still not a big fan of feeding himself. Now he will chew a little bit on a cheerio and when it slips into his mouth he spits it out. One of these days he'll get it. But in the meantime it is fun to watch. I will walk you through it in pictures. . .

Miscellaneous

Grandma & Grandpa Pyle came for a visit last week and much time was spent playing and eating and shopping. Thank you grandma and grandpa for all the fun!

This past Saturday Justin, Adam and I went to the park. . . being outside, what a novel idea. I need to do it more often.

Enjoy the pictures!
