With Wondering Awe. . .

This Christmas season has been particularly magical for me for some reason. And I think the biggest reason is this little green beauty in our living room.

(please excuse Justin's feet - and the askew tree skirt)

We went looking for a tree with the idea that it would be small, the cheapest we could find. First, we're on a tight budget, and second, we have two cats and a 1 1/2 year old. A small tree perched high upon a table or entertainment center cabinet seemed like the safest option. BUT, when we went looking we discovered that these trees were the same price as the little wee ones. So, I decided to throw all caution to the wind and go big.

I've always been a bit of a Noble Fir snob. But this year, our little Douglas Fir is the best, the most perfect little tree I've ever seen. Maybe because it was an unexpected treat, maybe because of how much Adam loves it and the fact that his little hands helped decorate it.

Either way, I love it and it sure does feel like Christmas around here.

Here is a cute little video about the true meaning of Christmas.
