Emma Prusch Farm

Last Friday a group of us went to the Emma Prusch Farm here in San Jose. It is so cool! Aparently, Emma Prusch grew up on this dairy farm. In the 1940s she saw how the San Jose area was becoming bigger and more of a "city", so she decided that in her will she would donate the farm to the city to be preserved as an open space. So, now, the house is still there along with some plots for gardens and the cow stables (I don't know if they are really called stables when they are for cows - but is is a big open barn) and a big playground and picnic areas. They have some farm animals there too; roosters and chickens and other foul all roaming around loose. Pigs, sheep, goats & cows too (not roaming loose, thank goodness). I really enjoyed it and look forward to taking Adam back when he is a little older.

And thanks to Jessica for letting us borrow the sun hat!

Enjoy the pics!

Sounds neat. I've never been there before. We might have to make a trip there as well. Look forward to seeing you on Tuesday.

We've been there, Z loved the gigantic play structures. I was going to take Liz and her kids there until I saw the free-roaming chickens- Liz is terrified of chickens.

We'd love to go there again- want to go? :)
